Concrete thickness on metal deck is related to many factors. For example, the floor load of the building, the span of the steel beam, the deck shape of the metal floor deck, the fire resistance requirements of the metal deck floor slab, whether there is vibration load in the building, etc.
The floor load of the building
Floor slab thickness is the most direct expression of floor load. If the floor load is relatively small, the floor thickness can be relatively thin, because the floor slab is the carrier of the load; if the load is relatively large, the floor thickness is relatively thick, so that the floor can bear more loads. For the metal deck of industrial projects supplied by Solideck, the concrete on it is relatively thick, and the thickness is generally above 200mm, or even 300mm;
The span of the steel beam
The span of the steel beams is closely related to the thickness of the concrete on the metal floor deck. When the span is small, the concrete thickness can be smaller; when the span is large, the concrete thickness must be larger, according to the specification: the ratio of concrete thickness to span is greater than 1/30 (simple support) & 1/40 (continuous);
The deck shape of the metal floor deck
The thickness of the concrete on the metal deck is also related to the shape of the metal floor deck. If it is a trapezoidal metal deck, the thickness of the concrete on the metal deck is not less than 50mm; if it is a re-entrant metal deck, the total thickness is not less than 110mm (including the height of the metal deck)
The fire resistance requirements of the metal deck floor slab
The metal deck is related to the fire resistance requirements of the floor slab. For example, if the fire-resistant aging of the floor is 1 hour, the concrete thickness is 70mm (the total thickness including the metal deck height is 90mm); if the fire-resistant aging is 1.5 hours, the concrete thickness is 80mm (the total thickness including the metal deck height is 110mm) ); if the fire-resistant aging is 2 hours, the concrete thickness is 90mm (the total thickness including the height of the metal deck is 125mm), see the picture:

Whether there is a vibration load
Concrete thickness is related to whether there is vibration load. Solideck has supplied the parking garage project, because the car will vibrate when it starts and stops, so the concrete thickness on the metal deck is relatively thick.
