How is composite steel decking manufactured

To manufacture steel decking ,thin strips of galvanized steel are cold rolled into corrugated, or ribbed, shapes known as profiles.  

There are three types of steel decks commonly used according to different needs, and their rib heights are also different, ranging from 1.5'to 5', which can be used for different slab collapses and different slab thicknesses.

Each steel decking can be manufactured in a different steel gauge according to construction project requirements, usually between Gauge22 and Gauge16. Sheet metal gauges are based on a weight of 41.82 pounds per square inch of thickness.

The shape and gauge of the steel deck profile influences factors such as the load capacity, thickness and fire performance of the finished composite floor slab.
