1. Optimization of steel structure
Although the optimization of the steel structure seems to have little to do with the steel deck, it not only involves the cost of the steel structure itself, but also affects the cost of the steel deck. For example, the layout of steel beams is like this. When determining the layout of the steel structure according to the requirements of the architect, the selection of the steel deck must be considered, because if the span of the steel beam is determined, the deck type of the steel deck is basically determined. , then the space to reduce the cost of steel decks will be greatly compressed. For example, when the structural designer determines that the main beam spacing is 9m, the secondary beam spacing can basically be considered to be 2.25m or 3m. 2. Floor slab thickness
According to the architect's plan, the thickness of the floor slab is basically determined, that is, the dead weight (dead load) of the floor slab is also determined, and the size can be adjusted not much. Then, there are certain restrictions on the steel structure itself, and there are also restrictions on the rib height of the steel deck. For example, when it is determined that the thickness of the floor slab is 150mm, the rib height of the steel deck should not be less than 2"; if the thickness of the floor slab is 100mm, the height of the rib should not be higher than 2". At the same time, the thickness of the floor slab also determines the thickness of the steel deck, which has a direct impact on the cost of the steel deck. Moreover, the thickness of the floor slab is also related to the fire resistance requirements, and the fire resistance requirements also affect the cost of the steel deck.
3. The role of steel decks in floor slabs
Whether the steel deck is used as a composite floor slab or just as a form work also affects the building itself and the cost of the steel deck. If a composite steel deck is used, the steel deck not only acts as a temporary support, but also acts as a reinforcement at the bottom of the slab, so the price is not comparable to that of composite floor slab. As a form deck, the steel deck only plays the role of temporary support, and the technical and quality requirements are much lower than that of the steel deck of the composite floor, and the cost is also much lower. When the structural designer starts the design, these will be considered together, and their thinking and behavior directly affect the cost of the steel deck and the overall cost of the project.
