A. Design steel deck for dead and live loads and to depths as shown on the drawings. Minimum steel thicknesses are shown on drawing or specified herein.
B. Deflection of roof deck under dead load shall not exceed 1/240th of the span and under live load shall not exceed 1/360th of the span.
C. Deflection of composite floor deck under load of wet concrete and self-weight plus construction load shall not exceed 1/180th of the span. Deflection of deck under imposed live loads, acting compositely with the concrete cover slab, shall not exceed 1/360th of the span.
D. Composite floor deck units shall be capable of sustaining the loads of wet concrete and placing and finishing operations, including unbalanced conditions, without overstressing the deck units or causing undue deflection or vibration, and, unless otherwise specified, without temporary shoring.
E. Design roof deck and anchorage of roof deck to supports to resist a minimum net uplift force of 2.0kPa.
F. Design deck units in lengths to span 3 or more supports, with 75mm laps at ends and male and female side lap joints, unless otherwise indicated.
